Air curtains or air door curtains are air handling devices that separate the outside and inside spaces with an air barrier when the door is opened. Air door curtains create a thick air wall and prevent the exchange of warm air from inside the room and cold air from outside.

Air door curtainss are available without heating, with electric heating and water heating.

Where do door air curtains find use?

The most common examples are industrial and commercial buildings such as warehouses, halls, shops, restaurants, etc. For their function, door air curtains are most often used in winter when the outside temperature drops and indoor spaces are heated. Door air curtains reduce the temperature loss of buildings. Door air curtains compensate for the difference between temperatures when doors or gates are opened. This prevents cold air from outside from flowing into the heated space and cooling the interior space.

The air barrier is created by a directed flow of warm air that forms an air cylinder. The outside air is heated to the required temperature inside the unit. Electricity is most commonly used to heat the air, but it is also possible to supply an air door curtain in which the air is heated with water. Installing an air door curtain using heating water to heat the air is more expensive, but more economical in the long run.
