Systemair SAVE recovery units are a series of highly efficient ventilation units with low power consumption and low SFP factor. The Systemair SAVE ventilation units are certified in the Eurovent program for residential units according to EN 13141-7:2010.
The motors of Systemair SAVE ventilation units use modern EC technology and are energy efficient. EC motors reduce the energy consumption for transporting ventilated air by approximately 50% compared to traditional AC motors. The fan motors in SAVE heat recovery units use RADICAL impellers, which reduce noise emissions and increase the overall efficiency of the fans.
The compact design makes Systemair SAVE ventilation units ideal for use in the renovation of existing buildings, while their modern design allows them to be installed in exposed areas of new buildings.
Control functions of Systemair SAVE residential units:
Temperature control
Option to set different temperature control modes:
- Supply air temperature control
- Soom temperature control
- Exhaust air control
Ventilation as needed
Air flow can be controlled based on CO2 or humidity sensors (both can be used). The ventilation as needed function is activated after selecting the automatic ventilation mode.
Defrosting
Heat exchanger defrosting is proactive and varies for different types of exchangers - plate/rotary. It uses a humidity sensor (hygrostat) in the exhaust air inlet and a temperature sensor in the outdoor air inlet. Based on the values from these sensors and their settings, it then selects different types and intensities of protective modes that protect the regenerative exchangers from complete freezing. The defrosting system uses, for example, a reduction in the flow rate of both fans or only the supply fan. In the case of a counterflow plate exchanger, a bypass damper can also be used for defrosting.
Cold recovery / free cooling
Once set on the controller, the cold recovery function is activated when the temperature of the exhaust air is lower than the outside air temperature. This pre-cools the supply air and reduces the cost of cooling the interior.
The free cooling function uses cool outdoor air to cool the interior during the night. The next day, the accumulated coolness delays the heating of the interior, thus reducing the costs of cooling it.
Humidity transfer control (rotary exchanger)
The SAVE ventilation unit control system is the only one on the market capable of controlling the transfer of humidity from the exhaust air to the supply air thanks to the continuous speed control of the rotary regeneration exchanger.
When its speed is reduced, the humidity transfer is rapidly reduced while maintaining the high temperature efficiency of the exchanger. Systemair SAVE recuperation units are therefore able to ensure optimal humidity, both in homes with high humidity problems and in those with the opposite problem.
ECO mode
Economy mode is a proactive function that saves on the cost of reheating the supply air. When this function is activated, a permissible deviation (0-10°C) is set, which reduces the requirement for the specified supply air temperature. This limits the switching on of reheating when the specified temperature is not reached due to recuperation.
ECO mode also includes a function called "free heating." If the outside air temperature is too low during the night and the air must be reheated during the night even to reach a reduced temperature (the set temperature reduced by the permissible deviation), the system remembers this information and activates the "free heating" function.
The following day, air at a higher temperature is supplied to the interior (using only recuperation), and the accumulated heat in the interior is used during the next cold night to minimize the use of the unit's heater. The reduced supply air temperature is also reflected in the "VISIT, AWAY, and HOLIDAY" modes.
Internet control
Thanks to the IAM module (optional accessory), the Systemair SAVE heat recovery units can be controlled, set, and monitored using a smartphone via the Systemair Cloud app. The Home Solution by Systemair app is available for both iOS and Android operating systems.
Option to connect to a higher-level BMS control system
The Systemair SAVE ventilation units can be connected to a higher-level building management system (BMS) and controlled via the ModBus RS-485 or ModBus TCP/IP protocol via an Internet access module (IAM).
Air flow compensation according to outdoor temperature
When this function is activated, the air flow is reduced at extremely low outdoor temperatures, resulting in significant energy savings for air reheating.
CAV / VAV control
The CAV/VAV kit expands the air flow control options of the heat recovery unit. In CAV mode, the unit is able to maintain a constant air flow, and in VAV mode, it maintains a constant pressure in the ductwork.
Energy-efficient ventilation for every home
The Systemair SAVE range of Eurovent-certified residential heat recovery units includes a wide range of energy-efficient units with a modern design for ventilating houses, apartments, or other residential buildings. All Systemair SAVE ventilation units exceed legislative requirements and are classified in energy classes A and A+ according to SEC values. Systemair SAVE ventilation units are suitable for use in new and renovated buildings and are always delivered pre-programmed, tested, and ready for immediate installation. All you have to do is take a deep breath.

Systemair SAVE - comprehensive residential ventilation solution
To ensure the perfect climate in your home, it is necessary to take a comprehensive approach to residential ventilation. In addition to energy-efficient Systemair SAVE ventilation units, we also offer ducting and distribution components developed specifically for this type of building.
The duct systems are highly flexible, antistatic, antibacterial, and suitable for universal installation in building structures. The distribution elements meet high design standards and ensure ideal and, above all, quiet air distribution in the living areas of a family home or apartment.
Comfort can also be improved with Save Control system components, which automatically control the operation of the heat recovery unit based on indoor air quality.
