Ferrari industrial centrifugal fans
We have newly added Italian manufacturer of industrial centrifugal fans Ferrari to our e-shop range. Ferrari industrial centrifugal fans are mainly used in agriculture, food processing, and the petrochemical industry. They are also used, for example, in wood drying kilns, cement plants, incinerators, glassworks, foundries, paint shops, and, last but not least, by manufacturers of filtration technology.
The Ferrari industrial centrifugal fans are characterized by high quality, wide-ranging applications, and affordable prices.
Ferrari's production program can be divided into two basic areas: centrifugal fans and axial fans. The centrifugal fans manufactured by Ferrari are available in direct drive, coupling, or belt drive versions. The belt drive fans are also available in single-sided or double-sided suction versions.
The air flow rates of industrial centrifugal fans in direct or coupling drive versions reach up to 300,000 m³/h. For the belt-driven fans, this figure is up to 400,000 m³/h. The usable static pressure reaches up to 20,000 Pa.
The standard spiral fan casing is made of sheet steel protected with polyurethane anti-corrosion paint. The fan impellers are dynamically balanced and equipped with forward or backward curved blades. The impellers are made of sheet steel or sheet steel protected with polyurethane anti-corrosion paint.
The industrial centrifugal fans from Ferrari are designed for continuous operation. The standard temperature of the transported air is from -20 °C to +60 °C. The manufacturer also supplies fans in atypical designs, particularly made of Corten, AISI304 stainless steel, AISI316 stainless steel, or Creusabro 4800. These materials offer a much wider range of applications and, above all, a longer service life.
Another advantage that should not be overlooked is the temperature resistance for continuous operation of transported air up to 450 °C. In terms of design, the temperature ranges of the transported air are divided so that up to +220 °C, it is possible to use a fan with a direct drive only with a cooling disc on the spiral casing, while for temperatures above +220 °C to +450 °C, it is necessary to use either a fan with a clutch or belt drive. This design protects the motor of centrifugal fans from the radiant heat emitted by the spiral casing, as the standard ambient temperature for electric motors is up to +40 °C.
Another important design feature that expands the range of applications for Ferrari industrial fans is the ATEX explosion-proof standard. The centrifugal fans can be used in a non-explosive design in accordance with the ATEX directive for three-phase motors and for the ambient atmospheric conditions defined by the EN 14986 standard. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +40°C, with an absolute pressure of 0.8 to 1.1 bar. The Ferrari fans can be used in explosive environments such as G (gas) and D (dust) in zones 1 and 2 (gas) or 21 and 22 (dust).
Here are the zones in which Ferrari fans can be installed:
Gas:
- 2G IIB T2-T3-T4, motor ExdIIB or ExeII
- 2G IIB+H2 T2-T3-T4, motor ExdIIC
- 3G IIB T2-T3-T4, motor ExnA (only for zone 3G)
- 3G IIB+H2 T2-T3-T4, motor ExnA (only for zone 3G)
Non-conductive dust:
- 2D IIIB T125°C-T135°C-T195°CT295°C
- 3D IIIB T125°C-T135°C-T195°CT295°C
Conductive dust (mandatory IP65 motor):
- 2D IIIC T125°C-T135°C-T195°CT295°C
- 3D IIIC T125°C-T135°C-T195°CT295°C
The industrial centrifugal fans from Ferrari have another advantage that is not entirely common among all manufacturers of industrial fans, namely the possibility of dust admixtures in the transported air to such an extent that part of the Ferrari fan production series is specifically designed for transport fans, which is also indicated by the shape of the impeller, which is "open" with fewer blades than standard centrifugal impellers.
Classification of centrifugal fans according to the amount of dust in mg/m³ in the transported air:
- air without dust impurities up to 50 mg/m³
- air with a slight dust content up to 150 mg/m³
- air with a moderate dust content up to 500 mg/m³
- air with a high dust concentration up to 5,000 mg/m³
- transport fans up to 50,000 mg/m³
Ferrari Ventilatori supplies its centrifugal fans with electric motors from Brazilian manufacturer WEG, one of the world's leading electric motor manufacturers with more than 50 years of tradition. On request, fans with electric motors from Siemens or ABB with a power output of up to 630 kW can also be supplied.
For potentially explosive environments, the range of motors is even wider, with the option of choosing from CEMP or SIMOTOP.
All electric motors are available in 230/400V or 400/690V versions and can be controlled using a frequency converter.
