What is the most common size of bathroom fans
The most common sizes of bathroom fans are 100 mm, 120 mm and 150 mm. These dimensions are standard, but the rule of thumb here is that it depends on the specific ductwork. If you need help with your selection, please contact us. There are minor differences, particularly in the type of ventilation duct, where a slight variation can make installation uncomfortable. In most cases we will ask you about the size of the HVAC duct as well as its colour. This is such a simplest indicator. Since we also specialize in selling ventilation duct, we have tried all the variations and know what works.
What is the difference between a radial and axial bathroom fan?
Centrifugal fans and axial fans are two different types of fans that differ in their design and the way they exhaust air.
Axial fans are the most common type of bathroom fan. They have rotating blades arranged around a central axis and their main function is to pull air directly along this axis. Axial fans are suitable for smaller spaces where neither high pressure nor high airflow is needed. They are relatively simple to construct and have lower energy consumption. They are also usually quieter than radial fans.
Centrifugal / radial fans have multiple rotating blades arranged around a central opening. Air is drawn in from the surroundings and exhausted perpendicular to the fan axis. Radial fans are capable of producing higher pressure and greater airflow than axial fans. They are therefore suitable for larger bathrooms or for situations where air needs to be efficiently ventilated over longer distances.
Both types of fans have their advantages and the use depends on the specific requirements and needs of the bathroom. Axial fans are suitable for normal ventilation, while radial fans are better for situations where more ventilation power is needed or for larger bathrooms with more complex ventilation systems.
