What is the difference between a radial and axial bathroom fan?

Axial fans are suitable for smaller spaces where neither high pressure nor high airflow is needed. They are relatively simple to construct and have lower energy consumption. Centrifugal / radial fans have multiple rotating blades arranged around a central opening. Air is drawn in from the surroundings and exhausted perpendicular to the fan axis. They are therefore suitable for larger bathrooms or for situations where air needs to be efficiently ventilated over longer distances.
